Strength of Self-reliance and Self-development Is That of Science and Technology

The instructions reflected his idea that we can accelerate victorious advance of our revolution which is advancing and leaping forward with self-reliance and self-development when we give definite precedence to science and technology.
Self-reliance and self-development is the invincible weapon for our revolution.
The whole historical course of the Korean revolution is the history of victory by the might of self-reliance and self-development.
The grand advance of self-reliance is inseparable from sci-tech development.
A country advancing in science and technology becomes powerful, but a country lagging behind in science and technology becomes weak. This is the present reality.
So, the respected General Secretary sees to it that all the units he visited vigorously advance the production and construction by dint of science and technology holding fast to the science and technology.
When he visited Kwail County, he highly praised the county for its bringing about bumper harvest of fruits despite severe natural disasters. He said with pleasure that Kwail County’s experience showed that it is possible to achieve victory in any unfavorable conditions when our officials rouse up the spiritual strength of the masses and fully display the spirit of self-development depending on science and technology.
The might of science and technology is the might of self-reliance and self-development, which is the life of our revolution, and it gives a shortcut to building a powerful socialist country.
Everyone can emerge victorious in the grand advance of self-reliance when they perform greater miracles and successes depending on the modern science and technology, keeping in mind that our dignity and future depends on science and technology.
Work for Everlasting Lifeline of Revolution
At the Third Plenary Meeting of the Seventh Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea held in April ２０１８, the respected General Secretary instructed that to develop science and education is the work for everlasting lifeline of the revolution.
His instructions represented the firm will of our Party to attain the higher goal of revolution and construction by putting spurs to building a sci-tech power, a talent power, and turn our country into a prosperous socialist power and people’s paradise as early as possible.
Talents, science and technology are the important strategic resources and weapon for making us bring about a great leap in the socialist construction.
Primary efforts should be given to the training of talents to steadily strengthen the sci-tech forces as demanded by developing reality in the present era of science and technology. And this is decided by education.
Giving priority to science and education guarantees the growth and development of the overall national economy.
Now in our country giving priority to science, education and talents becomes a social climate and traits of the state and eye-opening changes have been made in the work for improving living standard of people and strengthening the national defence capability thanks to the wise leadership of the respected General Secretary.
We should dynamically struggle to bring about a revolutionary turn in the work for science and education, bearing in mind the General Secretary’s instruction that to develop science and education is the work for everlasting lifeline of the revolution.
