Officials of the complex supplied the necessary materials for the researchers to deeply grasp the development history and excellent techniques of the red-and-blue painting, thus improving their abilities.

Through this process, the researchers came to know better about the characteristics and artistic effectiveness of the red-and-blue paintings and last year they made a contribution to restoring colors to the Songbul Temple and other relics on Mt. Jongbang to suit the principle of historicism.

Meanwhile, the agency remade the red-and-blue painting designs of the Kyongam Pavilion in Sariwon City this year, thus representing the phases of previous days and superiority of the red-and-blue painting.

This year Ryangchon Temple in Kowon County and other historic relics will be overhauled. To this end, the relevant institutions make material and technical preparations needed for the overhaul.
