Our Party’s Idea of Giving Priority to Education Brings Forth Proud National Customs

The １１th Plenary Meeting of the ８th Party Central Committee discussed as an important agenda the problem of educational development.

Afterwards, the enthusiasm for backing the education field is growing in the whole society.

The great Party Central Committee, at the plenary meeting, particularly brought up the problem of educational development as a separate agenda item, and indicated the immediate, medium- and long-range tasks to be fulfilled through the investment of the national efforts on the responsibility of the Party and the government in order to consolidate the foundations of education.

True to the Party’s policy and guideline, our people regarded it as the demand of their life to put the education onto higher level and strengthen the material and technological foundations of the education field, and devote their efforts to implementation of it.

Fresh spirit and mettle which are completely different from the past days’ are displayed in construction and remodeling of schools, key factor in strengthening the educational foundation of the country.

North Hamgyong Province and North Phyongan Province, which led the country in modernizing and remodeling schools last year, set high goal for building and remodeling more schools than the last year’s.

The officials of South Hamgyong and Kangwon provinces, learnt a serious lessons in failing to get gratifying results in the last year’s work, established goals to build and modernize much more schools, branch schools and kindergartens than the last year’s, and direct efforts into carrying out them.

The officials and working people of relevant fields, too, arouse themselves.

The working people of the Sangwon Cement Complex put spurs to production of cement needed for school construction which our Party gives importance to, amid the fierce struggle of attaining the goal of increased production.

The working people of building materials industry field including the Sunchon Cement Complex and Chonaeri Cement Factory display patriotic enthusiasm in the work for supplying plenty of building materials needed for building schools.

The officials and employees of many units in different regions across the country devote their conscience to the work for backing education.

In particular, deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly and people’s assembly at all levels, and meritorious persons of socialist patriotism take the lead in the work.

South Phyongan and North Hwanghae provinces push ahead with the supporting to put the education onto higher level.

The officials and employees of the Thosong Pharmaceutical Factory, South Phyongan Provincial Industrial Art Bureau, Tongrim Farm in Mundok County and other units prepare modern teaching materials and furnishings to back schools.

The enthusiasm for supporting the education is highly displayed among the ordinary workers, the old, servicepersons and officials of the public security organ.
