Monggumpho, Scenic Spot on West Sea Coast

Monggumpho is a scenic spot on the seashore of West Sea in Ryongyon County of South Hwanghae Province of the DPRK. It gives a picturesque beauty with white sandbank, pine trees, sweetbriers, etc.

Sand sediment forming sandbank of Monggumpho is well known as world famous quartz sand.

Monggumpho is characterized by its scenery of mysterious rocks as well as beautiful scenery of seashore.

Khokkiri (elephant) Rock at Monggumpho, a natural monument, is the leading one among mysterious rocks.

It seems like an elephant drinking sea water.

There is the dune of Monggumpho which has 20-odd sand-hills.
