Sports Contest among Officials of National Institutions Opens in DPRK

The 2024 Sports Contest among Officials of National Institutions opened with due ceremony at the Taekwon-Do Hall on March 5.

Divided into four groups, teams will compete in such events as volleyball (men), table tennis, a tug of war, Taekwon-Do and hurdle-overcoming at the Taekwon-Do Hall, Sosan Football Stadium and the Handball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street.

Present at the opening ceremony were Kim Myong Gun, chairman of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, officials concerned and officials and players of commissions, ministries and national agencies exemplary in mass sporting activities.

Choe Song Nam, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, made an opening address.

At the end of the ceremony, there was a men’s volleyball game between the teams of the Ministry of Railways and the Ministry of Chemical Industry.
